January Notions
January 13, 2025It’s March. The month of Pisces and into Aries. Two very different individuals, but let’s not get into that. You didn’t sign up for zodiac updates.
What is exciting?
Lady Gaga has a new album called Mayhem dropping this Friday. Why is that important? Because she is turning to her chaotic, darker, and more rambunctious dance roots for this album. If you haven’t heard Abracadabra (I have played it probably about 213 times now), I highly recommend it, but only if you want to feel good.
Not Gonna Get Too Deep about This, but…
If you don’t like what is happening in the world, my best advice is:
make art,
learn,
join in on the fight in the parts that hit you in the heart the most.

Podcast Interview with Dr. Valerie Paley of the NY Historical:
Thanks to the extremely talented writer, podcast producer, and librarian at CUNY’s John Jay School of Criminal Justice, Kathleen Collins—I was invited to interview the inimitable Valerie Paley. This link will be up next time too! We chatted about all kinds of interesting things in the cozy sound booth of the NY Historical Museum last week. (I forgot how much I adore the Upper West Side of NYC!)
If you have time, I highly recommend the Tiffany Lamp exhibition at the NY Historical.
Here are some recommendations I can offer you until next time:
For Lamb by Lesa Cline-Ransome
The Davenports by Krystal Marquis
See you Soon,
